About us — Mod Podge

We are Mod Podge. The first jar was mixed in 1967 by a decoupage teacher who was tired of carrying a pot of glue and a tin of varnish to every class, and the name is simply modern decoupage pushed into one word. We have been part of Plaid ever since, and we mix and fill in Georgia.
The line has grown from one bottle to over sixty-five formulas, but the brief has never changed: one bottle, three jobs, water based, clean-up in the sink. Every formula we add exists because a project kept failing with the ones we already had.
What is on this site
Everything we currently bottle, grouped the way we think about it rather than the way a shelf is usually arranged: by what the finish has to survive. Each page has the sizes we make, what the formula is for, and what it has been tested on.
Where we know a formula is wrong for a job, we say so on the page. We would rather sell you the right bottle once than the wrong one twice.
Looking for a bottle instead? All twelve shelves are here, and our guides cover the questions that come up most.
